Haka

Haka is a New Zealand Maori battle dance. Those who have been on our gigs know that battle dances are our everything. That's why we took the text of the famous haka called Ka-mate and reworked it into a battle metal track with epic drums and heavy breakdown at the end. According to legend, tribe leader Te Rauparaha ran away from enemies and hid in a deep hole in the ground. So he sat for many hours until he heard a noise from above and decided that they had come to kill him. But instead of the killers, he saw the local tribe leader Te Wareangi, who sheltered him from his enemies. Having just felt himself on the verge of life and death and having received an existential insight, Te Rauparaha immediately composed and performed Ka Mate.
